At the moment a friend and I are in the process of organising a large LAN for PC and Xbox 360 here in little old Christchurch. Details are still being ironed out but it will be in the first or second week of December. We are planning for between 100-120 participants. There will be sponsored prizes and a whole heap of fragging. I'll keep everyone informed via this forum. If you are particularly interested email me at richard.mclaren2@gmail.com

This is a public service announcement.

To remind you.

That this Saturday.

Around 10am.

There is an XBox Lan at my house. If you need some directions, you can text me at +64211661436.

Bring yourself, and some money for lunch. There are rumours that my dad will buy fish and chips for dinner for everyone o_O. LAN goes til late. If you have an XBox and a copy of Halo 2 or Forza or Star Wars Battlefront II, or even a TV, feel free to bring those. You can drop stuff off at our door, but please park on the street as there is very limited parking in the lane.

See you on Saturday.

360 "cheats" for Quake 4 [May. 13th, 2006|11:49 am]

I'm hoping somebody out there can help me understand the "cheats" for Quake 4. It says you are supposed to press "back" (okay, I know the back button), then it says to press "up, down, down, left, right, X, B, Y, ect." So what do they mean by pressing "up, down, left, right". There is no "up" or "down" buttons on the 360? Are they talking about the directional pad? And after you enter the cheat code, do you press "back" again? Thanks for the help

AnXac Day XBox LAN

It is almost one month til Anzac Day, thus I have decided to declare Anzac Day (25th April) the day on which the LAN will occur. At current count, we will have 2-3 XBox 360's, 6 XBox's, 7 copies of Halo 2, probably enough copies of Forza/Timesplitters/Star Wars Battlefront II/PGR2 etc for some decent LAN stuff. Currently I have three televisions, the 29" in the lounge, and two 21" TVs. How many people could bring a TV to this? Everything is in the sketchy planning stages at the moment, but I would imagine that we would try and start setup around 10am, planning to be gaming by 10.30 or 11. Fish and chips for lunch, perhaps, and maybe Hell Pizza for dinner.

Happy birthday for last week, Rihari :P How many 360 controllers will you and your flatmate have between you? And what 360 games.. by then I will definitely have PGR3 and PDZ for Lan-play, and maybe Ghost Recon Advanced Warfare..

How is Anzac Day for everyone, anyway?

This is from my private journal but it applies to this community:

I am long-term planning for a LAN with XBoxes, as we haven't had one in a long time. It will probably be in late April/early May, but I just made that up right then. Thats just an indication of how far away I'm thinking at the moment. Probably some Battlefront II, some Halo 2, maybe some Doom3, Forza, Timesplitters 3, depends what people are up to. We can easily have 6 XBoxes now, though between us (the owners of the 6 XBoxes) we have.. 3x Battlefront 2, 6x Halo 2, 2x Forza, 2x Counterstrike, 2x Doom3, 2x Project Gotham 2, 2x Timesplitters 3. I guess by the time of the LAN things could be different (maybe I'll buy my brother a copy of counterstrike seeing as its so cheap). Of course if we had 6 XBoxes we would need a) 6 TV's and b) room to fit them. There is enough room in the lounge for another TV so that could be 2, there is a TV in my room and one in the garage so that's 4, and I'm sure we can do something either in the lounge, kitchen, or one of the other bedrooms, I dunno. We don't need six anyway. We do need 16 people. How many people are interested in this crazy-huge LAN idea? It -may- involve some people who don't get along famousley with each other attending (though no-one who wants to stab each other), how many people are okay with that? Pretty much if you're reading this and live in Christchurch, it would be great if you could reply and let me know your feelings about this.

My precious.....360 [Jan. 18th, 2006|11:09 pm]

Well I traded in one of my xboxes, a PS2, a GameCube and my GBA SP. Not to mention I also traded Eyetoy Play 2, Singstar Pop (with mics) and about twenty odd games. Still while it hurt it was nice to only have to pay $125 for the Xbox 360 premium system and the VIP Premiere Pack. Now only to wait...*checks countdown timer* 42 days to go!

Also, if you want to join my clan (Spastics) email or reply here. We're keen to get a few members and start getting into some clan matches. We're all around the skill level of 15-18 but some of the guys haven't levelled up much. I think it would be great to get a decent sized CHCH clan going

I'd like to welcome our newest member, rihari!

Also, pricing has been released for the Xbox 360 for NZ, and the date set for March 2nd. The premium system will be $719.50 and the core system will be $549.99. This sounds like a lot -_- I have started saving. $54 a week onto my credit card until the start of March, when I should be able to afford one. You can check out my savings progress at my website in the top left corner.
