I'm hoping somebody out there can help me understand the "cheats" for Quake 4. It says you are supposed to press "back" (okay, I know the back button), then it says to press "up, down, down, left, right, X, B, Y, ect." So what do they mean by pressing "up, down, left, right". There is no "up" or "down" buttons on the 360? Are they talking about the directional pad? And after you enter the cheat code, do you press "back" again? Thanks for the help

But for the sake of it, I will try and help.

I have never played Quake, so I am just going to say what I would do if I had not played Quake before and was completely unfamiliar with it. Which I am.

Press the Back button. I assume this brings up some kind of screen with your current level objectives on it.

Use the face buttons (A, B, X, Y) and the D-pad directions (Up, Down, Left, Right) ONLY. Here is a crude Ascii diagram of the controller.

OOOUOOOOOOOOOY
OOO|
L--+--ROOOXOOOOOB
OOO|
OOODOOOOOOOOOA

For example, the following code:
d,u,d,d,u,r,l,r,B,A All weapons and shields
Would be, from my diagram, D, U, D, D, U, R, L, B, A.

I would imagine that there would be some kind of confirmation that the code had been entered correctly, for example a message box, or a sound effect. Listen carefully after you have entered the code.

I would imagine you would need to press the Back button to get back to the game, but I hardly think you would need to press it after each code.

I hope this helps, and have fun cheating the game and taking all the fun out of it.
